Installing a plug-in, that is, an add-on that expands the functionality of an application or server, is quite simple, although it has certain subtleties related to the features of the application or server interface. Nevertheless, having installed the plugin on one server, you can, by analogy, figure out how to install it on any other, so it makes sense to consider extending the server's capabilities using a plugin using the example of Wordpress.

Step 1
Install the plugin on the server. To do this, you need to copy the plugin folder to the https:// site_name / wp-content / plugins / folder with any FTP clients of your choice, and then attach the plugin through the admin panel. Go to the "Installed" submenu of the "Plugins" menu of the administrative panel.
Step 2
Click on the "Inactive" tab. It will be located at the top of the admin panel window. Select the plugin you want and click on the "Activate" item below it. The plugin will be installed and activated.
Step 3
After a certain period of time, a situation may arise when a number surrounded by a red oval appears in the administrative panel near the "Plugins" menu. This will mean that there is an update for the plugin, and wordpress will notify about it in this way.
Step 4
Go to the "Installed" submenu of the "Plugins" menu of the administrative panel. Click on the "Manage plugins" tab, go to the "Updates available" section. There you should select the item "Update automatically". The plugin will be updated. Before updating, you should save a backup copy of the plugin, because after its execution, a number of problems may arise. There are three possible outcomes.
Step 5
The plugin can be automatically installed and activated and the user only needs to check the server is working and there are no conflicts. The plugin will stop working, and an error message will be displayed - in this case, the user will need to check the plugin's activity so that it does not disrupt the entire server. The Wordpress admin panel will stop responding to the actions taken.
Step 6
In the second and third cases, it will be necessary to delete the folder with the plugin from the server (done in the same way as copying) and copying the saved backup copy of the plugin via the FTP client.
