In most cases, when sound disappears on the computer and no action leads to its recovery, the cause of the problem lies in the failure of the sound card driver. It should be noted that simply replacing the drivers will not be enough to fix the problem.

Step 1
If you have tried all the sound restoration methods known to you, and the result remains unchanged, you should proceed as follows. Disconnect all audio playback devices (headphones, speakers, subwoofer, etc.) from the computer, and then proceed to the next step.
Step 2
Insert the media containing the drivers for your sound card into the drive. Wait for the disc to load, then install the required software following the instructions during installation. After the installation of the drivers is complete, reboot the system through the "Start" menu (the button on the taskbar, many users confuse it with the computer power button).
Step 3
After the computer is ready for use again, connect your audio devices. Do not connect them all at once (if you use headphones and speakers at the same time), connect them one at a time. So, having connected headphones, set the value "Headphones" in the sound options menu and click "OK". Next, connect another type of device and set the corresponding parameter. If the dialog box does not appear, then the system has automatically configured the correct device type.
Step 4
If no sound is played, follow these steps. Open the sound settings menu and set all the "sliders" to the maximum level (including inactive ones). To access them, in the Sound Control window go to the "Options" section, then open the "Properties". Here you need to check the boxes next to each item. After saving the changes, you will see additional "sliders" in the main window.
Step 5
After all the volume controls are set to their maximum value, check for sound in the speakers - it should appear. If there is no sound, then the problem is with the sound card.
