Step 1
To accomplish this task, you need to configure the port speed. To do this, go to "Start" on your computer. Select the "Control Panel" section. Find the System tab among all the available icons. Find and open the Hardware tab. There you will see the item "Device Manager". When you start the manager, find the Ports option (COM or LPT). Click on the plus sign. A pull-down menu will open and select Serial Port (COMI). Right-click on it, and a window will open in front of you, in which click on the option called "Properties". A window will appear on the screen where go to the "Port settings" tab. In the “Speed” column, enter the number 115200, and then click on the “Ok” button. In this way, you have configured the port speed.

See which port your modem is using. To do this, go to the "Toolbar", and select the item "Phone and Modem" there. A window will open in front of you, in which go to the "Modems" tab. Opposite the modem, read the information about your port.

The next step is to adjust the bandwidth of the channel. To do this, go to "Start". Click the Run button. A window will open in front of you. In the "Command Prompt" the word without quotes is "gpedit.msc", and click "OK" to confirm. Select the Computer Configuration tab. Click on the "Administrative Templates" item. Go to the "Network" and then open the "QoS Package Manager". Click on "Limit Reserved Bandwidth". In the window that opens, find the "Parameter" tab and there put a check mark on "Enable". In the "Bandwidth Limit" window, set the value to zero. Then click on the "Apply" button and confirm "Ok".
