The computer mouse was invented in 1968, but it didn't hit retail until 13 years later. The mouse converts mechanical movements into the movement of an arrow, the so-called cursor, on the monitor screen. The response speed of the mouse (dpi), as well as the speed of movement of this device, may vary.
Instructions
Step 1
If the dpi is set by the manufacturer, then the speed of the cursor movement on the screen can be changed in the Windows settings. Typically, users increase the cursor speed so that when the mouse moves slowly, the cursor travels a fairly large distance, or vice versa, when the cursor moves too quickly at the slightest touch of the mouse, which makes it difficult to focus on a specific object on the screen.
Step 2
Open the "Control Panel" located in the main menu "Start" or in the system folder "My Computer". If necessary, switch the view mode to "Small icons" (top right) in the control panel and find the "Mouse" shortcut. Click on it with the left mouse button. You will see a small window called "Properties: Mouse".
Step 3
In the Properties window, select the Pointer Options tab with the left mouse button. Here you will see the "Move" section. In it, you can set the speed of movement of the pointer (cursor in the form of an arrow) using the slider. By default, for the standard speed, the slider should be moved to the middle. Also check the box next to "Enable increased pointer precision". After the necessary changes, click the "Apply" button and check if you are satisfied with the new cursor movement speed. If not, keep changing the position of the slider and click "Apply" again. Once the optimal speed is set, click "OK" and close the control panel.
