Probably, many got into a situation when, through negligence, they deleted the necessary files. And if they have been deleted from the hard drive, then this is still not so critical, since most of the files can be restored from the recycle bin or use one of the many information recovery programs. It is much more difficult when the information you need is recorded on the optical disc, but you accidentally erased it. To restore it in this case is problematic, but still possible.

Necessary

  • - computer;
  • - erased DVD;
  • - IsoBuster program.

Instructions

Step 1

To work, you need a special program. Unlike hard drive recovery applications, which are plentiful, there are not so many programs for recovering information from erased DVDs. One of the really working utilities is called IsoBuster (distributed on a commercial basis).

Step 2

Install the program on your computer. Insert the disc that was erased into the optical drive of your computer. Start IsoBuster. In the upper part of the window that opens, select the "File" component. Then move the mouse cursor over the DVD, after which a list of additional features will appear. From this list, select "Create IBP". Then click on the folder where the disk image file will be saved. After that, the procedure for extracting it will begin. Wait for this operation to complete.

Step 3

Upon completion of the operation, you will have a virtual disk image with the recovered files. Nothing can guarantee full or even partial file recovery. In this case, everything depends on many factors. But in most cases, it is at least partially possible to recover information. The original filenames can also be changed. For example, they can be signed like this: "file 1", "file 2", etc.

Step 4

Sometimes files may not open automatically. Then they need to set the program to open on their own. To do this, right-click on the file, then select "Open with", and then - the program that is needed to open it. For a video file, you must select, respectively, a video player, for a text file - the appropriate editor.
