E-books are gaining popularity with an increasing number of readers. Indeed, e-books provide opportunities that were never imagined prior to their introduction. Indeed, taking with you on a business trip 20-30, or even 100 of your favorite books - is this possible when using ordinary paper editions?
An electronic library, located not only on a computer, but also on an ordinary flash drive, can reach tens of thousands of titles, providing its owner with a pleasant and useful leisure for many years to come. An e-book is easy to get from the Internet in a matter of seconds, even if it is a rare edition. What can we say about how much easier it is to use sources in electronic form in the preparation of scientific or critical works.
If the user is having difficulty reading the downloaded books comfortably, he can use one of the following tips:
- Frequently downloaded books are packed into an archive (files have the zip or rar extension). This is done to save the disk space they occupy and reduce internet traffic and download times. In this case, before starting reading, they must be unpacked. You can open a zip archive like a regular Windows folder and drag files from it to your desktop or any other convenient location for the user. To work with rar-archives, you will need to use an archiver program, for example WinRar or the free 7-zip, which perfectly recognizes many common archive formats.
- To read books in pdf format, you may need to install a program capable of displaying this common format. It could be Adobe Reader or some alternative pdf viewer like SumatraPDF, Foxit PDF Reader, or many others.
- Another common e-book format - djvu - also requires software to be installed to view it. The most convenient for this are DjVu Reader, WinDjVu, Djvu Viewer.
- It is convenient to read downloaded books using a special device based on e-ink technology. Unlike the display of a computer or laptop, the e-ink screen looks just like a page of a regular book, without fatiguing the eyes and allowing you to read comfortably in any ambient light conditions.
