Banners are a simple yet attractive way to make an ad for a website or a postcard to a friend. You can create a banner using either a simple MS Paint program or a professional Photoshop editor.
Creating a banner with MS Paint
Open Paint, click on the Image menu and select Attributes. Specify suitable banner sizes, for example, 70 by 10 inches and click "OK". Select the Type tool, which has an A-shaped icon on the left side of the program. If the toolbar is not present, open the View menu and click the Toolbox button. Enter the banner text, for example, "Welcome to the site!". Drag the text with the mouse to the desired place and adjust its size so that it looks beautiful on the banner.
Select the Airbrush tool that has a spray can icon and select a large spray gun. Pick a suitable paint color and paint a few strokes around the white space of the banner, adding colored confetti. You can change paint colors or use other available tools to add different graphic effects. From the File menu, choose Save As. Specify the banner name, select the "GIF" format and save the file on your computer.
Using Adobe Photoshop
Open Photoshop, go to the File menu and choose News. Name the file "GIFBanner" and set the size to 8 "by 2", which is best for web placement. Open the Mode menu and click RGB Color. Select "White" in the "Contents" section and click "OK" to create the workspace.
Select the Type tool, which looks like a T. Enter a suitable font, size and color in the text bar at the top of the screen. Click on the banner and enter the message you want, then drag the text to the appropriate place.
Click on the Fill tool and select Pattern. Click on the picture field and choose a suitable background design, for example, in the form of bubbles or a checkerboard. Edit the template by lowering the Opacity to 20 percent so that the background is less vibrant than the banner message. Click on the white space of the picture to set the selected background.
Right click on the small icon with three lines in the upper right corner of the Patterns menu and select Flatten Image. If you don't see the Patterns menu, go to the Window tab and select Show Layers to activate the hidden panel. Open the File menu, choose Save As, choose.gif"
