Step 1
Launch Total Commander using the shortcut on your desktop. If you do not have this file manager, download the program from the Internet and install it into the operating system of your computer. You can find this program on the site wincmd.ru. Try to install the program to the system directory of the local drive "C". With the help of this program, you can view almost all files and folders that are in the computer's operating system, despite the fact that they may be hidden.
Step 2
Highlight the directory you want to expand as a complete list of contents. Click on the "Files" menu item with the left mouse button and hover over the "Print" item to display the sub-items. Select "List of files with subdirectories" and click on it with the left mouse button. The options dialog box will open. Specify the nesting level (value "-1" will mean to display all subdirectories). In the bottom line, you can specify the extension of the files that should be selected for display in the list. Indicate those, if necessary.
Step 3
After clicking on the "OK" button, a window with a text file ready for printing will appear. All files and subdirectories of the specified directory will be presented in the lines of this document. Click on "Print" to output the document to paper, or select Microsoft Document Writer to generate a file. This function of Total Commander can describe directories of any nesting depth and form any file types into a list. This algorithm can be written manually using a programming language and a recursion operator.
