The auto-complete password feature is a handy way to simplify your Internet browsing experience. This technology is supported by all modern browsers. Opera is no exception. However, under certain circumstances, saved passwords can be lost. You can restore them both by means of the browser itself, and using special programs.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item. Launch the Opera browser and go to the page that requires you to enter your lost password. Press the button with the key symbol in the upper service panel of the application window or use the combination of the Ctrl and Enter function keys.
Step 2
Before reloading the required page, press the Esc function key and open the context menu of the password entry line by clicking the right mouse button. Specify the "Inspect Element" command and find the line containing the word password in the window that opens. Open the found element by double clicking and change the value of the selected parameter to text. Make sure the lost password is displayed in the password entry line.
Step 3
Download and install on your computer the specialized application Unwand, freely distributed on the Internet. Run the installed application and specify the full path to the wand.dat file located in drive_name: Documents and Settings \% username% Application DataOperaOpera (for Windows XP and below) or drive_name: Users \% username% AppDataRoamingOperaOpera (for Windows versions 7 and Vista). Find the passwords you need in the Unwand dialog box that opens, containing the user's complete personal profile.
Step 4
Use another special program for recovering forgotten passwords of the Opera browser - OperaRecovery Tool. To do this, download the archive of this free application, unzip it and run the executable file. Please note that installation of the program is not required. Press the Load fom WAND.dat button in the main utility window and find the required passwords in the text document of the OperaRecovery Tool dialog box that opens.
