It is very convenient to use virtual disk images. They are a complete copy of the original disc. You do not need to insert the disc into the drive to run the image files. It is enough to create a virtual image once and you can mount it in the optical drive emulator and run it at any time. In addition, you can create two or three drive emulators at once and mount several images at the same time.
Necessary
Daemon Tools Lite program, Internet access
Instructions
Step 1
In order to mount a virtual disk image, the computer must have a virtual drive. Virtual drives are created using the appropriate programs. One of these programs is Daemon Tools Lite. Download it from the Internet and install it on your computer. There is a free licensed version of the program with limited functions. After the installation is complete, a dialog box will appear. In this window, check the "Restart computer now" item.
Step 2
After restarting your computer, run the program. After the first launch, it will create a virtual drive, this may take a little time (maximum one minute). The Daemon Tools Lite icon will be located at the bottom of the operating system taskbar. To open the program menu, double-click the left mouse button on this icon.
Step 3
After you get to the program menu, you will see the "Image Catalog" window. It is currently empty. To mount a disk image to an emulated drive, you need to add virtual disk images to this directory. To do this, click on the disk icon on the toolbar, next to which is a plus sign. The menu for browsing computer files will open. Specify the path to the disk image. Click on the disk image with the left mouse button, then click "Open" at the bottom of the window.
Step 4
Now the image you have selected is in the Image Catalog window. After that, click on it with the right mouse button and in the context menu that appears, select "Mount" and the virtual drive on which you want to mount the disk. There will be only one virtual drive by default.
Step 5
Now open "My Computer". The disk image will be mounted on the drive emulator. Opening a virtual disk image is no different from opening a regular disk from a physical drive.
