Removing protection from removable media or from a logical partition of a hard disk is possible if the object is in a mounted position and the lock is completed on it. Only one logical partition can be unprotected within a single physical disk. If you have several protected logical partitions, perform the procedures for them one by one.
Necessary
PC, removable disk
Instructions
Step 1
Open My Computer from the main Start menu.
Step 2
Find the drive you need in Windows Explorer.
Step 3
Highlight the drive to be unprotected.
Step 4
If the disk is disconnected, reconnect it.
Step 5
Right-click on the highlighted disk.
Step 6
In the context menu, select the "Kaspersky KryptoStorage" item (remove protection from the disk).
Step 7
In the "Required access to object" window, enter the access code for the locked disk. Click the "OK" button.
Step 8
Removal of protection from removable media or from a logical partition of a hard disk is performed in the background. Therefore, during the removal of protection, you can continue to work with the section.
Step 9
If desired, you can stop the process of removing protection.
Step 10
In addition, you have the opportunity to refuse to remove protection and return to the previous state. After refusal to remove protection, the disk will be in a protected state.
