In cases where several users use the same computer or there are concerns about the safety of data, the login to the system can be password protected. An account is created for each user. If you think someone is using your account, change your password when you sign in.

Instructions

Step 1

To change the password, call the User Accounts component. To do this, open the Control Panel through the Start menu. If it has a classic look, click on the icon of the required component right away. If the "Control Panel" has a view by category, select the component "User Accounts" from the category of the same name, or select the task "Change account" at the top of the window.

Step 2

In the window that opens, select the account to be changed, for example, the computer administrator, by clicking on the corresponding icon with the left mouse button. In the new window below the words "What do you want to change in your account?" select "Change Password". Four fields for data entry will be available in the new window.

Step 3

Enter in the first (upper) field the password with which you last logged into the system. Enter your new password in the next field. In the third field, enter the new password again so that the system makes sure you remember it. Be sure to be case sensitive when re-entering the new password. The last field is optional. But if you doubt that you will be able to remember the changed password the next time you log in, enter a word or phrase in it that will serve as a hint for you.

Step 4

If you want to completely abandon the password by making the system boot free, enter the old password in the first field (the one with which you logged in), and leave all other fields blank. Click on the "Change Password" button in the lower right corner of the window. Close all open windows in sequence. The next time you turn on your computer, use the new password to log on to the system. When entering a password, do not forget to be case sensitive: if you enter an uppercase letter instead of a capital letter, the system simply will not accept the password.
