Step 1
If you are not already familiar with this program, check out all its benefits:
- fast transmission and reception of messages, there is also support for sms messages (free messaging);
- integration of your mailbox on the mail.ru website into the program distribution kit (you can communicate in the "Agent" and know the current state of the e-mail box);
- it is also possible to call phones (paid service), communicate using a webcam, send and receive any types of files (photo, video, music, etc.) and play your favorite games.
Step 2
Now that you are familiar with the basic features of this program, you need to download and install it. You can download the "Agent" from the site mail.ru. The distribution kit of the program is less than 5 MB, and the installation takes place in a couple of minutes. After installation, run the program by double-clicking on the "Agent" shortcut on the desktop or in the "Programs" section of the "Start" menu.
Step 3
Before you start working with this program, you need to configure it. How is the setup going? You should set the parameters of this utility that suit you. First of all, you need to log in by entering your username and password from your email. Then go to the "Connection" tab and activate the "Connect through a proxy server" function if you are using such a server. The display of contacts can be configured on the "Contact list" tab. You can leave all the settings as they are, they are considered optimal.
Step 4
Now that all the settings have been made, you can start exploring the additional functions of the program. For example, quick notifications of all incoming emails or sending short messages to mobile phone numbers. When the Mail Agent connects to the network, your email inbox is automatically checked for unread messages. If there are such letters, you will see a notification about new letters that came before your connection to the network at the moment. Also, when working with the Mail agent, you will receive notifications about fresh letters, i.e. that have just arrived at your email address. To view an unread message, just click on the small window that appears, after a few seconds the "Inbox" folder will load in your browser window.
Step 5
To send quick messages to a mobile phone number, you need to add the contacts to whom you will call or send sms messages. Press the "Menu" button, select "Add contact for calls and SMS". In the window that opens, you must fill in all the fields, and then click the "Add" button. To send an SMS message, double-click on the selected contact, a new window will appear in front of you, in which you can write a message. After entering the text of the message, click the "Send" button.
Step 6
Keep in mind that when your contact replies to a received sms message, he risks spending much more money than sending a regular message.
