Instructions

Step 1

Download and install the VirtualDub utility. It is one of the simplest and most functional video editors. You can download the program as an archive from the developer's official website. After downloading, unpack the resulting file using WinRAR.

Step 2

Navigate to the folder where you extracted the application files. Double click on VirtualDub.exe. In the window that appears, select the File - Open tab and specify the path to the first video file.

Step 3

Then open File - Append AVI segment. Specify the path to the second video that you want to attach in the fragment. It is worth noting that if you want to glue 3 or more pieces into one file, you can use the same option. Each added fragment will be appended to the end of the previous one. Segments must be connected sequentially, i.e. open them in order.

Step 4

After opening all the fragments, you will be able to perform the necessary editing operations, i.e. cut out unnecessary parts, apply filters and add audio tracks.

Step 5

To save the received file, use the File - Save As function. Specify the path where you would like to save the final result, and also select the format of the final file. After the saving procedure, check the resulting recording using any video player. Video splicing is complete.

Step 6

If the video clips have different frame rates, you need to make certain adjustments. To do this, open each segment in a separate program window. After that go to the Video - Frame Rate tab of the program.

Step 7

In the window that appears, look at the FPS parameters of the original video file. Remember this value and go to another program window, where the second segment is open. Select the Video Frame option again, but this time check the box Change to X frame seconds, where instead of X, specify the number of frames equal to the original file.

Step 8

Click "OK" and save the changes made in the segment using File - Save. After that, in the window of the original video file, add this fragment via the File - Append AVI segment option.
