Necessary

  • - two computers (computer + laptop or 2 laptops);
  • - additional network board;
  • - wi-fi router;
  • - connecting cables.

Instructions

Step 1

For a normal connection between two computers, it is enough to run an Ethernet cable from one machine to another. This cable can be bought in a specialized mode or you can make it yourself (if you have a suitable tool). But in this case, you will not be able to connect the Internet to both computers.

Step 2

Among the available options, you can use the connection of an additional network card or a separate device - a router. The first method is much more economical than the second, but more laborious. After connecting the correct cable to both machines, configure the connection.

Step 3

On a computer with two network cards, you need to configure exactly the card that is responsible for the local network. You need to call the settings of this board through the context menu of the device in the "Control Panel". Select "Properties" and on the "General" tab set the following parameters: IP address - 192.168.0.1, subnet mask - by default, default gateway - 192.168.0.1.

Step 4

On the second computer, you need to set the same settings, but in the IP address line you need to replace the current value with 192.168.1.2. After that, you need to reboot each machine on this network.

Step 5

When connecting according to the "computer + laptop" or "laptop + laptop" schemes, it makes sense to look towards buying a router. Most mobile devices currently come with a built-in wi-fi adapter. If you buy the same wi-fi adapter for a computer, then you can exclude an Ethernet cable from this scheme.

Step 6

Now you need to configure the router itself. Entering the device menu is carried out by entering the IP address into the address bar of the browser. You need to change the WAN settings to the desired option. You need to check with your internet provider for the type of your connection. It remains to programmatically restart the router and enjoy the established connection.
