Despite the fact that the Windows XP operating system was released a long time ago, it still remains very popular and in demand. If you configure it correctly, then your computer will work stably and without interruptions. An important factor in setting up the OS is the time setting, which is needed for the stable operation of the system. If the date and time is not set correctly on your computer, you may have problems updating your antivirus software or registering certain software.

Instructions

Step 1

Click Start. Then go to the "Control Panel". In Control Panel, find the Date and Time component and select it. A window will appear, which will be divided into two parts. On its left side, you can adjust the date. There are two arrows in this window. The extreme left arrow allows you to select the month. Click on it and a list of months will appear. Select the one you want.

Step 2

The arrows to the right allow you to set the year. Use them to select the year. Alternatively, you can simply select it with the left mouse button, and then register the desired one using the keys. Once you have selected the month and year, proceed to select the date. There is a calendar in the window. Just pick the correct date on this calendar.

Step 3

On the right side of the window there is an image of a clock. There is a time indicator under them: hours, minutes and seconds. There is an arrow on the right. First highlight the hours, then use the arrows to select the correct value. Then also adjust the minutes and seconds. In this case, in addition to the arrows, you can use the keyboard. After making all the settings, click the "Apply" button, and all settings will be saved.

Step 4

After that, go to the "Time zone" tab. Click on the arrow. A list of time zones appears. Select the time zone in which you live from this list. After that, also click "Apply". If you wish, you can check the box next to the line "Daylight saving time and back", if such a transition is carried out in your region.

Step 5

Then go to the "Internet Time" tab. Check the box next to the line "Synchronize with a time server on the Internet." Then also click Apply. Now the time will be automatically synchronized with the Internet. Close the window. You will see that the time that is displayed in the lower right corner of the desktop has changed.
