When setting up a router, it is very important to correctly distribute the Internet channel. This will avoid a situation in which several devices completely load the network, preventing the rest of the equipment from using access to the World Wide Web.

Wi-Fi router
Instructions
Step 1
The problem is that launching some programs, for example uTorrent, can load the Internet channel quite heavily. In order not to give preference to a particular computer or laptop, it is recommended to correctly distribute the permissible speed of the Internet connection. Open your router settings.
Step 2
To do this, enter its IP address into the browser and press the Enter key. If you have already set up an Internet connection, then go to the Wireless Connection Setup menu or just Wi-Fi. Check the operating mode of the wireless access point. Find out the declared baud rate.
Step 3
Typically, the maximum bandwidth is set to 54 Mbps. This makes sense if you are using a Wi-Fi router to access network resources. Set the wireless baud rate to 1-2 Mbps. The choice depends on the nominal speed of your Internet connection, declared by the provider. Use a simple formula: divide the maximum speed by the number of devices connected to the router.
Step 4
Naturally, this setting of network equipment will affect the speed of access to local resources. If you need to give certain equipment a higher speed of Internet access, then reconfigure the access point. Select the operating mode of the 802.11 b / g / n (mixed) radio adapter. Set the maximum connection speed and save the Wi-Fi network settings.
Step 5
Now set up the laptops for which you want to cut back on the internet access speed. Create a network connection yourself by specifying the 802.11 radio signal type. This channel allows a maximum speed of 1 or 2 Mbps. Connect the rest of the laptops to the network as usual using channel b, g or n.
