To make a three-dimensional frame, you need a little patience and handy stationery. The photo is outlined with a pencil, and 4 more rectangles with a width of 1, 5-2 cm are "added" to the sides of the resulting rectangle. Then, the whole structure is cut out, and the narrow rectangles are folded into an accordion.
Necessary
hard cardboard, scissors, ruler, glue, pencil and cutter
Instructions
Step 1
First, select the color and texture of the cardboard. Turn the cardboard sheet over to face down. Decide on the size of the frame. For example, if you need a frame for a certain photo, then you should simply attach the photo to the cardboard and circle it. Next, draw a rectangle. To do this, use a ruler and pencil to mark the corners, and then make sure that they are equal to 90 degrees. Only then will the rectangle turn out to be even. After you draw a rectangle, you will need to draw 4 more similar shapes on each side, tightly adjacent to each other. The width of each rectangle should not exceed 2 centimeters. Measure out equal rectangles with a ruler and trace with a pencil. So, you have a drawing of the frame.
Step 2
Now you need to cut the drawing with the cutter. To make everything work smoothly, substitute a ruler under the edges of the drawing and drag the cutter strictly along the ruler. It is not worth cutting out the main rectangle, but the entire drawing.
After you have cut out the drawing, you need to bend 4 rectangles on each side. Attach a ruler and fold each rectangle individually. So you should have an accordion, with a rectangle in the center of the size of the photo.
Next, you need glue. Keeping the structure face down, fold and glue the rectangles on each side. When folded, you should get a volumetric rectangle on each side. Since you folded the rectangles in a circle, they should be face up.
Step 3
After the 4 rectangles have been glued, you should connect them together. To do this, push the ends of one rectangle into another, fastening with glue. And so in a circle. All 4 rectangles must be glued together.
So, we got a volumetric frame. If you want to make it even more beautiful, do all the operations again. Having received 2 volumetric frames, fasten them together with pieces of cardboard so that you get the doors.
