The choice of enabling or disabling the update download option is provided to the user during the initial installation of the operating system. This is usually offered at one of the last stages of the installation. In this case, the system will require you to specify the method of downloading and installing updates, or it will ask about your desire to cancel completely. Step 2
To cancel downloading and installing updates that were previously enabled and successfully used, you need to go to the menu through the "Start" and right-click on the line "My Computer". In the context menu that appears, click on the "Properties" command. In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Automatic Updates" tab and check the box next to the "Never download updates" message. After these steps, the operating system will stop communicating with the developer's website and updates will never be installed.
