Step 1
Identify unknown and deliberately not installed applications, plugins and panels in the computer system. Pay attention to the installation window for any applications you are using - quite often unwanted programs are included in the "Advanced Installation" set, which is not even displayed at startup. Choosing this installation method will automatically add unnecessary applications, video plugins or panels to the required program. Such additions are far from always harmful, but they cannot be considered harmless either. The main disadvantages of such applications can be considered: - changing the usual display method; - reducing the launch speed and operation of the browser used; - increasing the amount of RAM use; - reducing the usable area of the monitor screen; - removing the main application does not automatically remove the additional one.
Step 2
Uninstall unwanted programs by following a few rules: - download only from trusted sources; - make sure that all boxes for additional applications, plugins and panels are unchecked in the application installation window; - pay attention to warnings from browser programs - often the application reports attempts to add extensions and panels.
Step 3
Use the "Group Policy Editor" utility to prevent changes to the Internet Explorer browser configuration - make sure the "Allow third-party browser extensions" policy is disabled and the following policies are enabled: - Restrict search providers to a specified list of providers; - Don't allow users to enable or disable add-ons. - disable changing home page settings. Use a special batch file to automatically apply the selected policies -ie- lockdown-enable.cmd.
Step 4
Use the built-in System Restore to uninstall unwanted applications, plugins or panels and return to the original state of your computer.
