The taskbar on the "Desktop" helps to speed up the user's access to various computer resources. In addition, it is quite informative. The developers have foreseen many needs that may arise in the course of work. There is a clock on the taskbar along with other icons in the notification area. If they don't work as you would like, you can correct the time display in a few steps.
Instructions
Step 1
If you do not see the clock on the taskbar, customize its display. From the Start menu, open Control Panel, in the Appearance and Themes category, select the Taskbar and Start Menu icon. Alternatively, right-click anywhere on the taskbar and select Properties from the drop-down menu. A new dialog box will open.
Step 2
In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Taskbar" tab and set the marker in the "Display clock" field in the "Notification area" group. Click the "Apply" button for the new settings to take effect, and close the properties window of the taskbar by clicking the OK button or the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the window.
Step 3
Call the "Date and Time" component. To do this, double-click the left mouse button on the clock icon in the notification area on the taskbar. Alternatively, open the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu and select the "Date and Time" icon in the "Date, time, language and regional standards" category by clicking on it with the left mouse button.
Step 4
To correct the time displayed on the watch face, in the "Properties: Date and Time" window, open the "Date and Time" tab. In the right part of the window, select by double-clicking the left mouse button, the field of hours, minutes or seconds and enter the value you need. Click on the "Apply" button.
Step 5
To check the clock on your computer with the time that is displayed on the Internet, go to the "Internet Time" tab. Set a token in the "Synchronize with an Internet time server" field. Select the server, which should be checked against your computer, and click on the "Update now" button.
Step 6
Wait for the sync operation to complete. If it is successful, once a week the time on your computer's clock will be checked against the time on the Internet. Synchronization is possible only when your computer is connected to the Internet.
Step 7
On the "Time zone" tab, use the drop-down list to specify your time zone. The data in the drop-down list is oriented to GTM (Greenwich Mean Time), that is, to the time of the meridian passing where the Royal Greenwich Observatory used to be located. After selecting the desired time zone, click on the "Apply" button.
Step 8
On the same tab, pay attention to the field "Automatic transition to daylight saving time and back." The marker in the specified field allows the computer to independently add one hour to the current time (or subtract it) on certain days of the year. Since the transition to daylight saving time was canceled in the Russian Federation, the need for this function has disappeared. Remove the marker from the field and click on the "Apply" button.
