When you connect any device to a personal computer, you install the drivers for this device, which are available on the installation disc. You sometimes do not even notice this, following the step-by-step prompts of the system. But sometimes there are situations when the equipment connected to the computer stops working due to a failure that has occurred with the drivers.

Instructions

Step 1

In this case, they need to be rebooted, or, in other words, updated. If you know where the device drivers are located, you can do it yourself. They are usually located in a folder that is created on your hard drive when you install the hardware. This folder is located in the Program Files. Typically, the system local drive on a personal computer is partition C.

Step 2

So, through the "Start" menu enter the "Control Panel". Click on the "System and Maintenance" tab. In the window that opens, select the "System" tab and carefully study the menu on the left. Among the menu items will be "Device Manager". Click on it. In earlier versions of Windows, simply select "System". Then "Device Manager".

Step 3

You will see a window with a list of all devices connected to your computer. Find the device you want to update the drivers for in the list. Non-working drivers will have a small yellow triangle icon with an exclamation mark next to the name. Click on the driver with the right mouse button.

Step 4

In the menu that appears, select the "Update driver" option. A dialog box will open where select the "Search for a driver on this computer" command. The driver search program will start, which will open a new window with its name. Here you need to choose the location of the driver storage. To do this, left-click on the "Browse" command. In the list of folders, find the one where the drivers for your device are stored. Click on it. The command line will show the address of your folder.

Step 5

Click on the "Update" or "Run" button. The driver will be updated. Reboot all device drivers in the same way. Moreover, you need to start the update from the bottom driver in the list. Once you've updated all the drivers on your computer, restart it.
