When editing photos in Photoshop, you often need to select objects. With the help of object selection, you can change the color, sharpness, contrast of a certain fragment or background and do much more interesting.
Instructions
Step 1
There are several ways to select objects, and each of them will be relevant in a specific situation, because it is impossible to choose a universal selection tool in view of the different shapes of the object, contrast and uniformity of the background, etc.
Step 2
You can select an object using the Magnetic Lasso tool. This tool, unlike Lasso and Polygonal Lasso, makes it possible to move along the contour of an object and select it without unnecessary mouse clicks. But to achieve the accuracy of the selection, you should be as careful as possible. Any tool in the Lasso suite will keep you busy until you're done, which can be tedious. If you are working on a laptop, use the touchpad - this device is more convenient in this case than a mouse.
Step 3
You can also select an object using the Pen Tool. Selecting an object with it, you can, after finishing the selection, correct the imperfections of the work by adding additional points along the contour. This is done by holding down the Ctrl key - the Pen Tool turns into a cursor and allows you to move the selection point. Once you've finished selecting the object, right click on the object and hit Make Selection with a value of 2 to feather the edges.
Step 4
If your subject is on a solid background in your photo, you can use a quick selection with the Magic Wand Tool. To do this, select the tool and set the digital value, which will be individual in each case, and click on the background. Try different numerical values for the instrument to get a precise selection. After that press Ctrl + Shift + I to invert the selection.
