Charts are used in various documents to visually represent tabular data. Almost every type of document containing a diagram can be edited in one way or another. Depending on the program in which this editing takes place, the methods for deleting diagrams will differ.
Instructions
Step 1
Load the document containing the diagram you want to delete into the appropriate editing program for its type. If the document is stored in a file with the xls, xlsx extension or a similar file type, then you can open it in the Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet editor. The procedure for deleting a diagram in this program is extremely simple - just click it with the mouse cursor and press the Delete key.
Step 2
If the diagram is stored in a doc or docx file, then you can delete the unnecessary diagram using the Microsoft Office Word word processor. In this case, the procedure itself is no different from the one described in the first step - after launching the application and loading the document with the diagram into it, select it by clicking the mouse and press the Delete key.
Step 3
Removing charts from HTML documents can be a little more difficult. This operation can be implemented most simply if the site, from the page of which you want to delete the diagram, has a built-in control system. The vast majority of such systems use the visual editing mode. You need to find the link to the page editor in the control system, go to it and load the page with the diagram. After that, as in the previous versions, select the object containing the diagram by clicking the mouse - it can be a picture in one of the graphic formats or a flash object. The selected object in the visual editing mode is also deleted by pressing the Delete key.
Step 4
If there is no control system with a built-in page editor, then you will have to open the file containing the source code of the page in some editor and independently remove the tag related to the diagram from it. Such an editor can be a simple notepad, and which of the tags you need to look for in the code depends on the type of file containing the diagram. If this is a file of one of the graphic formats (with the extension jpg, gif, png, bmp), then you need to look for the img image tag, in the src attribute of which this file is indicated. Such a tag might look like this:
If the diagrams are made using flash technology, then you need to look for a block of code that begins with an opening object tag and ends with a closing tag. Inside this block, there must be one or two attributes that contain an indication of the diagram file. For example, if this file is named diag.swf, then the block of code that you need to delete might look like this:
