Every image in Adobe Photoshop consists of one or more layers. Layers can be given a variety of effects using a setting called a layer style.
Necessary
- - Adobe Photoshop;
- - style files.
Instructions
Step 1
In the Window menu, check the Styles checkbox to activate the Layers palette. Adobe Photoshop offers several preset style sets. Click the button in the upper right corner of the palette. The drop-down list in the lower section contains a list of additional sets
Step 2
Check any item on this list. The program will offer you to make this set the main one (Replace), add it to the end of the list (Append) or cancel the action (Cancel). If you decide to return to the default settings, choose the Reset Styles command from the drop-down menu
Step 3
You can add your own to the standard styles, which you downloaded from the Internet or developed yourself. Style files have the.asl extension. For convenience, it is better to place them in one folder - for example, in the Styles folder. On the Internet, many resources offer free download of new styles in the form of zip or rar archives. Place the downloaded archive in the selected folder and unpack it using the Extract button.
Step 4
Select the Load Styles option from the drop-down menu. By default, the PresetStyles folder opens in the Adobe Photoshop directory. If the style files are in another folder, specify the network path to it and double-click on the file name. After that you can apply new styles to the layers.
Step 5
Select the Load Styles option from the drop-down menu. By default, the PresetStyles folder opens in the Adobe Photoshop directory. If the style files are located in a different folder, specify the network path to it and double-click on the file name. After that, you can apply new styles to the layers
Step 6
The Preset Manager command can be selected from the Edit menu. From the Preset Type list, select Styles or use the Ctrl + 4 keys. Click Load and specify the path to the downloaded file.
