Nowadays, computers with an increased amount of RAM are becoming more and more popular. The disadvantage of using this is the 32-bit operating system Windows XP, since it cannot use more than 4 GB of RAM due to internal limitations. But some actions require more. There are various ways to increase the amount of memory to the actual level that is in the computer.
Necessary
The program "Unlock RAM over 4 Gb (RAM) in Windows XP"
Instructions
Step 1
One of the solutions to this problem for Windows XP is to install a new 64-bit operating system, which is a different assembly. In this case, the newly installed software will already use more memory.
Step 2
You can also use a special patch to increase the size of the RAM. Download from the Internet the program "Unlock RAM over 4 Gb ([RAM) in Windows XP". It is free and does not require additional activation. Then install this application on your computer. To do this, select the ReadyFor4GB.exe file by double clicking on the utility shortcut. Please note that the download must be performed on behalf of the administrator, since only he has the right to such actions within the system.
Step 3
The working window of the program will appear on the screen. Make sure that the installed utility matches the version of your operating system - information about this patch will be displayed in the right corner of the tab. Before starting the program, close all applications that are not needed for the correct operation of the operating system itself. Some anti-virus programs may also prevent Unlocker from increasing the volume. For more correct operation of the program, temporarily disable the protection of your computer.
Step 4
Start directly with the process. You will see an "Unblock" button. Click on it. Then select the Y key to confirm or the Q key to exit the program, then press Enter.
Step 5
The utility will start working. When it finishes, restart your computer. Only then will all changes take effect. You can make sure that the program works by going to the properties of the "My Computer" menu, where instead of the previous amount of RAM, which was no more than 4 GB, you will see a value that exceeds it. The speed of the system itself will be automatically increased.
