Every Internet user quite often uses Internet messengers. At the moment, there are a large number of similar programs that work on the basis of the instant messaging protocol (ICQ). One of the most common messengers is Miranda. After its installation, additional configuration of the program components is required.

Step 1
Start the messenger. In the main window of the program, press the menu button (Miranda icon) and select the Options item. In the left part of the window that opens, select the Network section, from the drop-down list, select the ICQ item.
Step 2
In the right part of the window, you need to make changes. Each registered ICQ user has its own credentials (login and password), which must be entered in the Username and Password fields. To encrypt the connection, check the box next to Use SSL. As a server (Login Server), you need to specify the address login.icq.com.
Step 3
If you have activated the connection encryption option, set the Port value equal to 5190, or 5222 if you do not need connection encryption. To maintain the connection, check the box next to Keep connection alive. Select Cyrillic as the language used in the program.
Step 4
After clicking on the "OK" button, the settings are saved and the registration or connection to your account takes place. If you are not registered yet, but the program will give an error Error 409: Conflict, therefore, the login you have chosen is already taken by another user.
Step 5
Now you can start installing additional plugins. Installing add-ons is quite simple: copy the add-on files to the program folder or to the Plugins folder, which is located inside the program directory. In addition to the add-ons, it is advisable to install localization files, since it is much more convenient to work with the localized version of the program.
