Miranda is one of the most popular instant messaging clients. In addition to the standard functions, the program has the ability to install various plugins. For example, she can show the current weather from the Russian server Gismeteo.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the Weather Protocol plugin from the official Miranda client site. To do this, go to the official website of the program in the Addons section. In the search bar at the top of the loaded page, enter Weather Protocol, click Search. In the list of results, select the found extension, click on the Download link.
Step 2
Return to the search bar, enter the query Gismeteo, click Search. Download the found plugin. If you want to additionally install other icons for displaying weather, write Weather Icons in the search box and select a set of icons that suits you among the results displayed on the page.
Step 3
Unpack the resulting archives using an archiving application (for example, WinRAR or WinZIP). Move the weather.dll file to the client's Plugins folder (C: / Program Files / Miranda IM / Plugins), and copy gismeteo.ini to the weather directory (/ Miranda / Plugins / weather). Place the icons in the Icons subfolder of the same directory.
Step 4
Launch Miranda and go to the plugin settings window (Options - Plugins - Weather). Select the parameters you need to display the weather by checking the boxes next to the necessary items. Configure the forecast display format using the Weather Text section of the configuration tree.
Step 5
Go to the branch "Pop-up notifications" (PopUps) on the left side of the window, set the options for displaying pop-up windows.
Step 6
Add your city to the list for output. To do this, go to the Gismeteo website, enter the name of the city in the search on the main page. Wait for the page to finish loading and copy the number from the address bar of your browser. For example, if the link looks like https://www.gismeteo.ru/city/daily/4517/, you need to copy 4517.
Step 7
In Miranda's window, click the Find / Add contacts button. In the upper left part of the window that appears, specify the parameter "Weather" (Weather), and in the Station ID paste the copied code. Click "Search", right-click on the found city, select "Add" - "Change" - "Set as default station". Right-click on the contact that appears in the list, select "Update weather". The setup is complete.
