Webcasting can be a very convenient way to share something with other Internet users around the world - today, Internet broadcasting, both video and audio format, is becoming more and more popular. You can organize your own broadcast by transmitting both video and audio format data to the network, using a TV tuner, a video card with a video input, an FM tuner as a source, as well as movies and music that are stored on your computer.

Instructions

Step 1

Download and install a simple Windows Media Encoder program to create your broadcast. Run the program and create a new session. In the new session window, select the Broadcast a live event section. Click OK. A new session creation wizard will open - in the window that appears, select the video and audio capture devices that will be used for broadcasting.

Step 2

If you're only going to stream video, turn off audio sources. If you are going to stream audio, disable video sources. If necessary, specify additional settings for the capture source by clicking the Configure button. Once you've configured your video and audio sources, click Next.

Step 3

A window will open in which you need to check the Pull from the encoder line. In the next window, select the port for broadcasting - click the Find Free Port button so that the program finds a free port to which the players can access. Rewrite or remember the URL for LAN connections.

Step 4

In the Encoding Options window, set the encoding settings - for example, DVD-quality. In the next step, you will need to test your local network bandwidth. Set the Frame Rate to 25 Hz and click “Done”. Now click the Start Encoding button.

Step 5

View the connection status - you will see the number of clients connected to you, the degree of CPU utilization (it should not exceed 90%), and with the help of Display you can control the video frames that you send to the network.

Step 6

Launch Windows Media Player or Winamp, and in the Open URL section, enter the address you remembered above.
