Step 1
First of all, you need to copy the images from the camera's memory card to the hard drive. To do this, open Windows Explorer, open the drive belonging to the camera, select the desired images and copy them. To copy, you can use both keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert), and the context menu.
Step 2
Select the directory where you will store your new photos. The best solution would be to create a new folder. Do not forget to give the original or memorable name of the directory. Now you can insert images, for this use the similar keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert) or the corresponding command of the context menu.

It remains to download a program for editing graphic documents, i.e. photos. It is recommended to use the free Gimp application, which works under many operating systems, for example, Windows, Linux, as well as MacOS. After downloading and installing the software, launch Gimp by double-clicking the icon on your desktop. To open photos, use the top menu "File" and click the "Open" button or press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O. In the file open window, select graphic documents and click the "Open" button.

Click the top menu "File" and select "Save As". In the window that opens, specify the save directory and the new file format. Press the Enter key or the "Save" button. Thus, you need to do with all the images, if there are several of them.

Also in this program it is possible to change the color, contrast and brightness of photos. When using additional plugins, you have the opportunity to bring the functionality of the program to the level of Adobe Photoshop.
