Images in psd format, cut into pieces and ready to be transferred into the source code of web pages, are usually called templates. There are such semi-finished products for creating, for example, calendars, artistically designed portraits, etc. Often templates, in addition to the main picture, contain several additional options that are not visible by default. To see them, you need to turn on the visibility of the corresponding image layers.

Instructions

Step 1

Start the graphics editor and open the template file in it. Photoshop supports most of the functions of the operating system, so you can load the psd file by simply dragging and dropping it into the program window.

Step 2

To manage layers in this application, there is a special panel, which is called "Layers" in the menu and reference materials. If you do not see it in the editor's interface, open the "Window" section in its menu, find the name of this panel in it and click the mouse. You can do without the menu - pressing the "hotkey" F7 also opens the layers panel.

Step 3

Find the layer that contains the desired image. At the left edge of the row in the panel there is a field where the image of the eye is visible for the currently visible layers, but it is not for the hidden ones. Left-clicking on this empty field will turn on the visibility of both the layer and the thumbnail with the eye. The same can be done through the "Layers" section in the graphical editor menu - select "Show layers" in it.

Step 4

The image you need can be composed of several structural units, then you need to do this operation with each of them. However, if it is a professional-quality template, the elements of each version of the image will be grouped and placed in separate folders. In this case, you do not have to turn on the visibility of each layer, it is enough to do it with the line of the corresponding folder in the layers panel.

Step 5

Turning on visibility may not be enough to see the hidden image - it may be hidden by the content of the layers from the top rows of the Layers panel. In this case, do the opposite operation with the interfering elements of the structure of the picture - turn off their visibility by clicking on the field with the eye icon.

Step 6

Sometimes the structure of the layers is such that only one layer should be visible to display one of the variants of the picture. In this case, it is convenient to use a method that, simultaneously with enabling the display of the layer, disables it for everyone else. The secret of this method is simple - when clicking on the eye icon, hold down the Alt key.
