Since the beginning of the rapid development and popularization of cameras, thousands of photos began to accumulate on the hard drives of each of us, taking up gigabytes of space. Sooner or later, it becomes necessary to somehow organize the space and move the accumulated photo archives to another location. As an alternative to a hard drive, you can use an optical disc, or simply a CD or DVD disc.
Necessary
- - writing drive;
- - blank disk.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you burn your photos to disc, you need to make sure you have a CD / DVD writer and a blank disc at your disposal. If the disc can be bought at the nearest supermarket, then the situation with writing drives is a little more complicated. Let's say your devices are configured and capable of recording.
Step 2
The next step is to prepare the data for recording. This procedure includes a set of a certain number of photographs. But their total mass is calculated not in pieces, but in megabytes. Limits are imposed by the capacity of the drives. If you plan to burn a photo to a CD, make sure that the total weight of the photo files does not exceed 690 megabytes. If you have a DVD burner and a blank DVD disc at your disposal, the size of the burnable files can be increased up to 4.4 GB.
Step 3
The weight of the files can be found in the "Properties" menu. Having selected all the photo files, right-click on them, and in the "Properties" menu, find the line "Size". This line will show the total size of the selected files. If there are more or less files, make the appropriate adjustments.
Step 4
After finding a blank disc and collecting photos, you can start recording. The easiest way is to use the standard "Windows Disc Burn Wizard". In the "My Computer" folder, double-click the CD or DVD drive. In another window, open the folder that contains the photos for recording. Select them all by pressing the "Ctrl + A" key combination or by dragging the mouse cursor around. Then, by clicking and holding the left mouse button on the photo files, drag them into the open folder of the drive. Wait a while while the files are being copied. After the transfer is complete, the files in the drive folder will be displayed in a semi-transparent form.
Step 5
Insert the prepared disc into the CD / DVD drive. After Windows detects a blank disc, you can start the burning process. To do this, in the upper left corner of the drive window, find and click the "Burn files to CD" item. In the window that opens, specify a name for the disk and click "Next". In the next window, click "Next" again and wait for the end of the recording.
