By default, the Text tool in Adobe Photoshop uses all fonts installed on your computer's operating system. Therefore, the easiest way to add new fonts to the list is to install them using standard OS tools. However, this is not the only way.
Instructions
Step 1
In modern versions of Windows, installing a new font is very easy using File Explorer. Start the procedure by launching this application - press the Win + E key combination, select the "Computer" item in the main menu, or double-click the icon with the same name on the desktop.
Step 2
Then navigate the File Explorer tree to the folder where the font file you want to add to the Photoshop font list is stored. Such files most often have the ttf or otf extension, and clicking on them with the right mouse button brings up the context menu, in which there is the "Install" item. Select this command, and the font will be added to the set of the operating system and application applications, including the graphics editor. Depending on which tool was activated in Photoshop at that moment, you may need to restart the font list or simply switch to another tool (for example, "Brush") and back ("Text") to update the list of fonts.
Step 3
You can add to the list of Adobe Photoshop fonts without installing the fonts in the operating system. To do this, you need to place the file with the new font in a special folder on the system disk of the computer, which is automatically created by the graphical editor during installation. It is also most convenient to do this using Explorer - launch it, go to the directory with the new font file and copy it (Ctrl + C).
Step 4
Then go to the system drive and in the directory named Program Files expand the Common Files subdirectory, and in it the Adobe folder. This folder contains a separate repository of Photoshop fonts called Fonts - open it and paste the copied file (Ctrl + V).
Step 5
Removing any font from the list of the graphical editor is done in the same way - you either need to uninstall the font from the operating system, or remove it from the folder of Adobe's own fonts specified in the previous step.
