Do not despair if important information has been lost among the deleted message history in Skype. There are several effective options for its restoration.
Necessary
- - PC with installed Windows operating system and Internet access;
- - Skype program;
- - Handy Recovery utility.
Instructions
Step 1
Copy the history files of your interlocutors in Skype, which are stored on their computers and are duplicated for both contacts. If, when reinstalling or switching to another version, the program logs are saved, go to the control panel of your computer. Click on the "Folder Options" icon, in the window that opens, select "View" and activate the "Show hidden files" item in the menu.
Step 2
Open the Application Data directory on your local drive and activate the folder with the Skype username. Copy the logs of the previously used version to the directory of the same user, but of the new program. Launch Skype and select the interlocutor on the left side of the window.
Step 3
Set in the program settings to show all messages for the previous time period, if such an option was not activated earlier. Check out the history of calls and messages. In case you manually deleted the log file, check its location in the basket. If you do not find the file you are looking for, try to restore it using the profile utility using the services of the Handy Recovery program.
Step 4
Run the Handy Recovery utility and analyze the disk with it. After its completion, set the appropriate parameters in the filter and proceed to search for deleted files. Such manipulations with the restoration of certain information will be effective only if previously, during the reinstallation of the operating system, the hard disk was not fully formatted on your computer.
Step 5
If you find the required file among the deleted information, restore it using Handy Recovery. Activate the corresponding command in the upper menu of the program. After that, on the hard disk, click on the Recovered Files folder and copy the log file to the user's Skype directory.
