When working with a computer, even the simplest operations have to be performed for the first time ever. Copying and deleting files, installing programs and drivers - all these actions seem difficult and incomprehensible to a beginner, but only until he does them himself. Nowadays, most mobile devices - phones, tablets, and so on - are equipped with slots for a memory card. And to users who copy files to it for the first time, this really simple operation may also seem complicated.

Necessary

  • - computer;
  • - memory card;
  • - card reader.

Instructions

Step 1

To be able to manage data on a memory card, it must be connected to a computer through a special device - a card reader. It is available in most modern laptops, or purchased separately as a USB device. Insert the memory card into the appropriate slot of the card reader, and if the card is in microSD or Sony M2 format, you may need an adapter that "converts" these cards into their full-format counterparts - SD and MS Pro Duo, respectively.

Step 2

Open the "My Computer" panel on the desktop or using the "Start" menu and wait for a new line to appear in the list of logical drives, which is called "Removable Disk" and is headed by the next letter in the list. For example, if the computer has three logical drives - C, D and E, then the removable disk will be assigned the letter F.

Step 3

Select this logical drive and go to it. In the next window, open the folder with the files that you want to transfer to the memory card, and drag the icons of the required files with the mouse to the removable disk window. If you need to copy several files in a row, select them by holding down the SHIFT key or using the mouse, and drag the selected files "at a time". If the files you need are not in a row in the list, select them by holding down the CTRL key and clicking on them with the mouse. After all files are marked, release CTRL and drag the entire selected list into the removable disk window.

Step 4

Then remove the memory card from the card reader and insert it back into the device in which it is used. Check how the copied files are displayed. Remember that files that are not supported by your mobile device will most likely not be displayed. However, they will continue to take up space on the memory card. In this case, do not be too lazy to reconnect the memory card to the computer and remove them.
