There are several basic options for editing the operating parameters of the Windows Seven operating system. The developers of this OS have also provided for the ability to quickly restore system boot files.
Necessary
- - DVD drive;
- - Windows 7 installation disc;
- - system recovery disk.
Instructions
Step 1
If, after turning on the computers, a message appears stating that one or more boot files were not found, proceed with restoring the required data. Insert the Windows Seven operating system installation disc into the DVD drive tray.
Step 2
Restart your computer and open the BIOS menu. This usually requires pressing the Delete key. Select the Boot Options menu and open the Boot Device Priority item. Activate DVD drive priority. Press the F10 key to save your settings and restart your computer.
Step 3
Press an arbitrary key after the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed. Wait until the procedure for preparing the required installation files is complete. Open the Advanced Recovery Options menu.
Step 4
In the menu for selecting options for further work with the disk, select "Startup recovery". Confirm the start of the automatic boot file editing process. Wait for it to complete and restart your computer.
Step 5
If you do not have a Windows 7 installation disc, but you have another computer with this system, create a recovery disc. Insert a blank DVD into the drive. Open Control Panel and select the "System and Security" menu.
Step 6
Go to the "Backup and Restore" submenu. In the left column, find the item "Create a system recovery disc" and open it. Specify the drive in which the disc is located and click the "Create Disc" button.
Step 7
After completing this procedure, remove the disc from the drive and insert it into the DVD-Rom of the first computer. Turn on this PC and repeat the procedure described in the third and fourth steps. It should be noted that it is not always possible to restore boot files of 32-bit Windows using a disc created in a 64-bit system.
