Unlike text documents, tables often require more horizontal space than a standard printed page can provide. If it is not possible to reduce the size of the font used in the table or change the sheet format, then the output is only in the spread of the table by 90 °.
Instructions
Step 1
In practice, rotating a table means changing the orientation of the printed sheet on which it is placed from "portrait" to "landscape" (or from "portrait" to "landscape"). If the work takes place in the text editor Word, then to access the corresponding setting you need to open the "Page layout" section in the menu. It contains the "Orientation" item, which you need to click and select the option labeled "Landscape". In versions of Word prior to 2007, the path to this function was through the File menu and its Page Setup item. In this way, a window was opened where, on the "Fields" tab, it was necessary to select the "Landscape" item in the "Orientation" list.
Step 2
This method is applicable in the case when you need to expand all the pages of the document or it consists of only one page with a table. If the table is located on one of the sheets of a multi-page document, and the orientation of the rest must be preserved, then the procedure must be changed. First, click anywhere in the table to highlight this page, and then open the margin settings window. In Word 2007, on the same Page Layout tab, expand the Margins list and select Custom Margins. In Word 2003, open the "File" section of the menu and select the "Page Setup" line. In this way, in both versions, the settings window opens, in which, on the "Fields" tab, select "Landscape" in the "Orientation" section. The bottom line of this tab contains a drop-down list labeled "Apply", which contains two items: "To the whole document" and "To the end of the document". Select the line "To end of document".
Step 3
Then click the OK button to return to the multi-page document. Going to the next sheet after the table, click it with the mouse and repeat the previous step with the only difference that now select the orientation "Portrait".
Step 4
If you use an Excel spreadsheet editor to edit a table, then to rotate sheets with tables in it, you need to do the same steps - the differences are minimal.
