Tables are used in documents for various purposes, not only for the orderly display of data sets, but also for formatting texts or their graphic design. Sometimes you have to put one table in another to get the desired result. Most often, the need for such manipulations with tables arises when working with documents in a word processor Microsoft Office Word or in web pages.
It is necessary
Word processor Microsoft Office Word 2007 or 2010
Instructions
Step 1
If the table in which you want to place another is stored in a Word file, start a word processor, load the required document into it and prepare a place in the structure of the main table. This program has the ability to merge the cells of an existing table to organize a slot large enough to display a new table. To use this option, select the required group of cells in an existing table, right-click the selection and select the "Merge cells" line from the context menu.
Step 2
When the cell for the new table is ready, place your cursor in it and go to the "Insert" tab in the application menu. Expand the drop-down list "Table" and select the desired option for creating a table. Here you can simply click the desired cell of the layout or use the "Insert Table" item to open a separate dialog and fill in the form fields. If you need a table with a structure that is more complex than linearly arranged rows and columns, select the "Draw table" item and create it with the mouse pointer.
Step 3
You can also use Microsoft Office Word to add a table to the source code of a hypertext document, but this option is not always available. “Manually” it can be done by placing inside the td tag of the selected cell a set of tags that form a new table of the required structure. The minimum set of commands should begin with an opening table tag and end with a closing tag of the same name. Between them you need to put lines - tr - and cells - td. For example, to form a table of two rows and four columns, in the cells of which their ordinal numbers are placed, the set of tags should look like this:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
This code should be placed in a cell of an existing table, delimited by tags
