Daily use of a computer implies a gradual depletion of the resources of the computer itself. You may feel the so-called “aging process” when the operating system freezes or other problems appear. To a greater extent, the reason for such freezes lies in the gradual failure of some of the parts that make up the system unit.

Necessary

Electric soldering iron, solder, rosin, new capacitor

Instructions

Step 1

In order to find out the exact reason for the freezing of your computer, you need to contact the service center. In this center, you will be shown the reason for the constant freezes of the computer. But fixing these faults, as well as consulting in this center, usually costs money. Sometimes the amount of money required by the repair center can be quite a lot. Therefore, try to deal with this problem yourself. If you cannot find the cause, contact the service center.

Step 2

The problem of swollen capacitors plagues most computers. It is a well-known fact that any part wears out after a while and becomes unusable. A capacitor is a part that performs the function of accumulating electricity with subsequent smoothing. There are several types of capacitors. One of them, you, for certain, could have seen back in school in physics lessons. A rectangular object with two contacts, which was charged from the mains. When shorting wires on any metal object, it gives a powerful click. Even pupils in schools sometimes indulged in such "toys".

Step 3

Those capacitors that are on the motherboard are less impressive in size. They are barrels that sit vertically on the motherboard. In order to find out the health of a particular capacitor, you need to take a closer look at it. The top of the cylinder is the condenser cap. If this cap is swollen and not flat, then this capacitor should be replaced soon.

Step 4

Use a soldering iron to remove the damaged capacitor. Do not forget that all operations with the internal devices of the system unit must be performed only after turning off the power to the entire computer. Dip the heated tip of the soldering iron in rosin and lean it against the contacts of the damaged capacitor. After you retrieve it (there may be several of them), go to the nearest electronics store. Show the seller any non-working capacitors and buy new ones.

Step 5

After purchase, you can proceed with the installation of new capacitors. Use a heated soldering iron: dip its tip in rosin and slide the tip over the legs of the new capacitors. Take the capacitor in your left hand and the soldering iron in your right. Each capacitor has a designation of legs. Place the capacitor on the board so that the "pluses" of the capacitor and the motherboard are side by side, in the same position.

Step 6

Take a few drops of solder with a soldering iron and solder the joint. After soldering all the capacitors, connect the computer to the network and check its operation.
