Probably, each of us had situations when the computer did not turn on at the right time. Often this happens if the PC power supply refuses to work. You can repair the power supply in the following way.

Necessary

Phillips screwdriver, soldering iron, solder, rosin, sandpaper, tweezers

Instructions

Step 1

The failure of the computer's power supply could happen for several reasons: the unit was initially of poor quality, its service life expired, there is not enough power for this computer, or some of its parts burned out. In the first three cases, the power supply cannot be repaired, so buy a new power supply. In case some part is burned out, try to repair it yourself. Most often the fuse blows.

Step 2

Unplug your computer, remove the power supply, and unscrew the cover. Find the blown fuse (it will be black). Remove the board, which is located in the power supply case, and very carefully use a soldering iron and tweezers to solder the blown fuse. Look at its parameters (they are indicated under it), remember (but best of all write down) and go to the radio market, or to a specialized store to buy a new fuse.

Step 3

Carefully unsolder the legs – contacts from the old fuse. Using a knife or sandpaper, carefully clean the contacts on the part you just purchased (the contact is where you will solder the legs from the old, blown fuse).

Step 4

Then, using a soldering iron and tweezers, re-solder the legs to the new fuse and install it back into the board. Next, place it in the power supply case, close it with a lid, put it back in the system unit.

Step 5

Connect all cords correctly and start your personal computer. If it works successfully, then you can congratulate yourself - you coped with the repair of the power supply and did everything right.
