Overclocking (overclocking) is a method of increasing the power of processors. This is done by increasing the frequency of the processor. There are a lot of special programs for this.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - system administration skills.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install the program for overclocking the processor, for this follow the link https://www.softportal.com/software-4579-clockgen.html, download the installation file of the program and install it on your computer. Then run the program, set the required processor frequency value, press the Set button
Step 2
Overclock your computer using Bios, to do this, restart your computer and immediately press the Del key at boot time. Press it several times to make sure it works. If another key is used, you can find it out from the instructions for the motherboard. To overclock a Pentium processor, it is necessary to increase the processor frequency, which consists of the product of the bus frequency and the multiplier. To overclock either the FSB or the processor frequency must be increased.
Step 3
Overclock the processor by increasing the bus frequency, this way significantly increases the overall system power. Find in BIOS the option responsible for the memory frequency. To do this, open the manual for the motherboard and set in which section this option may be located. Most often these are the Advanced Chipset Features or Memclock index value sections. The last parameter is measured in megahertz. It can also be in the POWER BIOS Features section and called System Memory Frequency. Find this parameter and set it to the lowest value. To do this, press Enter and select the desired value from the list, or define the value using the cursor keys. Setting the minimum memory frequency is necessary to further increase the FSB frequency, since the memory frequency will also increase.
Step 4
Find the AGP / PCI Clock parameter, set it to the following value - 66/33 MHz. Next, find the HyperTransport Frequency parameter, reduce the frequency for this parameter to 400 or 600. To start overclocking the Pentium processor, go to the Frequency / Voltage Control or POWER BIOS Features section. Find the item CPU Host Frequency or External Clock. Then change the parameter upwards. Start increasing by 10 MHz, save the parameters, load the OS and check the stability of work by going into a toy that is demanding in terms of parameters.
Step 5
Make sure that the program is working properly and that the processor temperature does not exceed 60 degrees. Increase the value gradually to check the stability of your computer. If a program crash, blue screen, error appears, go back and reduce the frequency to stable. Then again increase the memory frequency, do it gradually, change the parameters one by one, immediately test the change made.
