Instructions
Step 1
Install the CPU-Z program and run it. Find out the current processor performance. The total CPU frequency is obtained by multiplying the multiplier by the bus frequency. To maximize the effect of overclocking the processor, you need to increase the bus frequency.
Step 2
Restart your computer and open the BIOS menu. To do this, press the Delete key at the start of the PC boot. Press the F1 and Ctrl buttons at the same time to open the advanced settings menu. Some motherboard models may require different key combinations.
Step 3
Open the menu responsible for configuring the parameters of the RAM and the central processor. Increase the CPU bus frequency. Raise the voltage supplied to the processor by changing the value of the CPU Voltage item. Press the F10 button to save the settings and restart the computer.
Step 4
Use the CPU-Z utility to assess the stability of the processor. Open Control Panel and select the "System and Security" menu. Go to the "Administration" item. Click on the "Windows Memory Check" shortcut. Diagnose the RAM status by restarting your computer. If the system does not detect any faults, then re-enter the BIOS menu.
Step 5
Go to the item in the third step. Change the timings of the RAM. It is recommended to initially decrease the value of the delays by a minimum step, i.e. by 0.5-1 pips. Be sure to slightly increase the voltage supplied to the RAM strips. Save your settings and restart your computer.
Step 6
Repeat cycles of speeding up your PC and checking the stability of the CPU and RAM until the system detects errors. Monitor the CPU temperature at all times using the CPU-Z program or auxiliary utilities such as Speed Fan.
