Sometimes users, while tidying up their desktop, accidentally delete the trash. In general, it's okay, files can still be moved to the trash, but you won't be able to quickly recover a deleted file. Fortunately, the situation is fixable, and the Vista Recycle Bin can be brought back to the desktop.
Necessary
Vista computer
Instructions
Step 1
After you find that the shopping cart is missing, click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen and select Control Panel in the menu that opens.
Step 2
When the Control Panel window opens, click Appearance and Personalization and then Personalization. On some computers, you can go directly from the Control Panel window to the Personalization item, bypassing Appearance and personalization.
Step 3
On the left side of the window, you will see the item Change Desktop Icons. Click on it.
Step 4
Another small Desktop Icon Options window will open. In the Desktop icons list, select the check box next to Trash and click OK. As soon as you do this, the basket will reappear in the same place. If you deleted the Computer, or Network, or User Files icons along with the Recycle Bin, you can restore them from the same Desktop Icon Settings window.
