The operation of enabling ActiveX controls and plug-ins for Internet Explorer is a security setting for your computer and must be done on your own. Please be aware that changing these settings may make your computer more vulnerable.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system and go to the "All Programs" item to perform the operation to enable ActiveX controls and plug-ins for Internet Explorer.
Step 2
Point to Internet Explorer and launch the application.
Step 3
Expand the Tools menu at the top of the browser window and select Internet Options.
Step 4
Click the Security tab of the properties dialog box that opens and select the Internet zone.
Step 5
Click the Custom Level button in the Security Level for this zone section and select the required options from the following:
- Download signed ActiveX controls;
- Download unsigned ActiveX controls;
- Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe.
Step 6
Press the OK button to execute the command and once again confirm your choice by pressing the "Yes" button in the system request window that opens.
Step 7
Click OK to confirm the application of the selected changes.
Step 8
Return to the main Start menu for an alternate method of enabling ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer and go to Control Panel.
Step 9
Open the link "Internet Options" by double-clicking and go to the "Security" tab of the dialog box that opens.
Step 10
Select the "Trusted sites" group and click the "Other" button.
Step 11
Apply the checkboxes in the required fields of the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section and click OK to confirm the command execution.
