A personal computer has a wide variety of settings. To provide a local network or Internet connection, special system configuration is required.
Instructions
Step 1
All settings in the operating system can be viewed. As a rule, everything is done when the parameters are changed. On a personal computer, all the settings required for the network are located in the "Network Neighborhood" tab. To view the settings of a local connection, click on the "Show all connections" button. You will see a small list of all connections that are available on the personal computer. These can be both local connections and modem connections.
Step 2
Right-click on the "Local Area Connection" shortcut. Then select the "Properties" item in the context menu. A small menu will appear in which all the settings for the network are made. Typically, the "Internet Protocol" plays an important role. Click on this column twice with the right mouse button. A specific number must be entered in the "Use the next IP address" column. Also, do not forget that the IP address on both personal computers must differ only in the last digit for the local connection to be active.
Step 3
The network settings can also be viewed on the modem that is connected to the computer. Go to "My Network Places". Next, select the connection that matches your modem. Right-click and select Properties from the context menu. Then you can view any settings that interest you. As practice shows, connection settings can be viewed and also changed in USB modems. To do this, open the program that manages the connection.
Step 4
This software is installed when the modem starts up. Once you open the program, click the "Settings" button. Next, select the profile you want to view or edit. You can edit various data in this menu. However, do not forget that incorrect data can lead to a complete disconnection of the connection. Try not to touch settings in which you do not understand anything.
