Many users, for sure, would like to remove the password entry window when loading the operating system. Moreover, if there is only one user on your computer, the window for selecting a user and entering a password is not needed at all. After all, every time you boot your PC, you need to click on your account icon.
Instructions
Step 1
Click Start. Select "All Programs", then - "Standard Programs". Find and run the command line in standard programs. In the window that appears, enter the command Control userpasswords2 and click OK. In the window that appears, click on the name of your account with the left mouse button. This will make it stand out.
Step 2
Then uncheck the box next to the "Require username and password" line. In the next window, you need to enter your account password, as well as its confirmation. If you have not set a password for the account, then you do not need to enter anything. Click OK. In the next window, click on "Apply". Now you do not have to enter your password and username every time you boot the operating system.
Step 3
Another way to disable password entry is as follows. At the command prompt, enter regedit. The Registry Editor window will appear. On the right side of the window, there is a list of the main registry keys. Find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section. There is an arrow next to it. Click on this arrow with the left mouse button. In the list that appears, open the SOFTARE subsection. Go to Microsoft / WindowsNT / CurrentVersion / Winlogon. Select the last section of Winlogon with the left mouse button.
Step 4
After that, a list of registry branches will appear in the right window of the registry editor. Find a branch called DefaultUserName. Double click on it with the left mouse button. In the line that appears after that, enter the name of your account, and click OK.
Step 5
Then find the DefaultPassword registry branch and double-left-click on it as well. In the value of the line that appears, enter your password and click OK. Next, open the AutoAdminLogon registry branch and enter "1" in the value field of this line. Close all windows. The operating system will now boot automatically without the need to enter a username and password.
