Many computers are awash with unwanted software, which is often difficult to remove. This may be preinstalled by the software vendor. However, you can get rid of it.
There are several reasons to disable or uninstall software. After that, the loading time of the operating system decreases, pop-up windows disappear, and the computer starts working much faster. Especially often new computers come with a lot of preinstalled programs.
Removal in the usual way
The best way to uninstall software is the built-in tool of the operating system - Control Panel. A program shortcut can also be used to uninstall it. MyUninstaller is a good alternative to the control panel. Its main feature is that it can delete several programs at the same time.
You can uninstall the program using a file named uninstall.exe or setup.exe. They are usually found in the installed software directory. You just need to double-click on it with the left mouse button and follow the instructions.
What to do if the uninstall procedure does not work
If it is not possible to uninstall the software in the usual way, reinstalling it helps. This way, you can make sure that all the files are in their place. This is often the beginning of the removal procedure. Of course, such a reinstallation is only possible with the original installation file. To do this, it is worth saving the installation files on your hard drive.
Disable automatic launch of applications
Sometimes it is useful for a program to start when the operating system boots. But this is not desirable for many applications. Some auto-run programs put a shortcut on the taskbar. However, this is not always the case.
The problem with all these programs is the increase in the boot time of the operating system and the use of system resources that are needed by other applications. If apps are never used, it is best to disable them from starting and then uninstall them. To do this, go to the program settings and uncheck the box next to the "Autostart" setting. After that, it is advisable to restart the computer and uninstall the program.
Using the MSCONFIG procedure
If there is no uninstall shortcut and autostart cannot be disabled using the Windows tool, you must use the MSCONFIG procedure. This tool offers an overview of automatically launched programs and services. To start working with MSCONFIG, you need to enter its name in the search field of the Start menu. When you start this program, a list of all programs installed on your computer will appear. Thus, you can even uninstall Windows firmware. However, you should not do this without thinking, because you can turn off important elements of the system, and it simply will not start. Therefore, it is necessary to look at the software manufacturer in the list (the second and third columns of the "Startup" table) before uninstalling and it is advisable not to touch Windows programs.
