Windows password was created by the developers for the safety and security of confidential information. If you have forgotten your Windows password or cannot use the password because it has expired, you can only log in after removing the password.
Necessary
- Computer;
- Windows operating system
Instructions
Step 1
Log into the system as an administrator and remove the password. To do this, restart your computer, and then type the CTRL + ALT + DELETE key combination twice. Enter the name of a user with administrator privileges. Perhaps instead of a name in the "Username" field, you need to enter the word "Administrator", leave the "Password" field blank and click "OK".
Step 2
Left-click on the "Start" button in the status bar. Select Run. In the window that appears, type the command control userpasswords2 and click "OK". Go to the "Users" tab, click on the name of the account whose password you want to remove, then click in the "Change Password" field. In the “Change Password” dialog box that appears, enter the new password in the “New Password” field, then repeat the password in the “Confirm” field, and then click the “OK” button. Restart your computer and log in with the new password. Write down the password on paper and keep it in a place inaccessible to strangers.
Step 3
Using a diskette (disk) to remove the password, you can also log in without a password. To do this, restart the computer, in the "Username" field, enter the name of the user whose password has been forgotten and click "OK". In the message "Forgot your password?" enter your password and click Use Password Reset Disk. This will launch the Remove Passwords Wizard.
Step 4
In the "Password Removal Wizard" window, click "Next", insert the disk (diskette) to remove the password and click "Next" again. In the “Enter new password” field that appears, enter the new password and in the line below, write the new password again for confirmation. Next, in the "Enter a hint for the new password" field, enter the hint and click "Next". In the new window, click "Finish" and log into Windows.
Step 5
If your actions are unsuccessful, reinstall the Windows operating system. It is better to contact a specialist to reinstall the OS.
