The construction of windows in Windows operating systems is done in such a way that any window that is active or requires input of data signals a change in its state by lighting up on the taskbar and painting the window tab in a different light. If you do not like the blinking of windows in the taskbar, this can be easily fixed.
Necessary
XP Tweaker software
Instructions
Step 1
To edit system settings that are only available in the registry, it is recommended to use the services of third-party programs. Of the free distribution utilities, we can single out the simple XP Tweaker program. You can download it from the following link https://xptweak.sourceforge.net/download.htm. After downloading this page, click the "Distribution without installation" link and specify the folder to save it.
Step 2
The utility is delivered as a compressed archive. Unpack the program to any folder. you do not need to install it. Double-click XP Tweaker.exe to launch the program. In the window that opens, go to the "System" section in the left part of the window. On the right side, select the Task Pane tab.
Step 3
Go to the "Blinking taskbar buttons" block and change the settings for both fields. The default values should be "3" and "200". The first parameter shows how many times the button of the active window will blink. It is advisable to set the minimum value, but not less than one, since "0" instructs the system to blink endlessly.
Step 4
The second parameter shows how many seconds the window button will be highlighted. To completely disable the blinking and / or backlighting of the window button, set the value = 0. To save the changes, press the "Apply" button and restart the computer.
Step 5
But if you own and like to work with the system registry, all of the above can be done using the Regedit editor. To run it, click the Start menu and select Run. In the empty field of the window that opens, enter the regedit command and click the "OK" button.
Step 6
In the Registry Editor window, locate the HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop folder located on the left side of the program. On the right side, find the ForegroundLockTimeout parameter and change its value to "0". For the second parameter ForegroundFlashCount it is necessary to change the value from "3" to "1".
