In the process of assembling the system unit, it is important not to miss all the subtleties of this case. The buttons for turning on and restarting the computer are connected after installing the motherboard in the system unit. These buttons are connected by one loop together with signal indicators of green and red light. In some system units, these lamps have the same color, the only difference is in the glass, which converts the glow color.

Instructions

Step 1

When connecting the ribbon cable connectors to the motherboard, you need to find out which wire is responsible for a specific operation. As a rule, a loop consists of 4 or 5 paired twisted wires. They have the following designations:

- HDD LED - indicator of hard disk activity, gives a signal to the red light;

- POWER SWITCH - button for turning the computer power on and off;

- POWER LED - indicator of the computer on;

- RESET SWITCH - computer restart button;

- SPEAKER - system speaker, serves to notify problems that have arisen when the computer boots.

Step 2

It is worth noting that in each system unit, these labels can be shortened. For example, the POWER SWITCH connector is most often referred to as POWER SW. Before proceeding to connect the connectors of buttons and indicators, you need to study the instructions for your motherboard. It describes all the actions associated with connecting this loop. In addition, on many motherboards where this cable is connected, the manufacturer indicates the name of the connectors.

Step 3

When connecting, pay attention to the markings of the connectors, they show the sides along which the "+" goes. If the bulbs do not light up after connection, it is enough to turn them exactly 180 degrees. After connecting all the connectors to the motherboard, turn on the computer. If any indicator or button does not work, power off the computer and check if the connection is correct.
